Job Description
As a System Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining and managing complex IT systems and infrastructures within the organization. You play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability and performance of the systems that are essential to business operations. You will work closely with various teams, including software developers, network administrators and database administrators, to create optimal IT solutions that meet the needs of the organization.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), the System Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the stability and performance of the IT infrastructure within the organization. The role requires a proactive attitude, strong technical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Design and implementation of IT systems: developing detailed system architectures and designs based on business requirements. Implementing the necessary hardware and software components to ensure a stable, secure, and scalable infrastructure.
- System integration: ensuring seamless integration of different systems and technologies, guaranteeing compatibility and interoperability.
- Maintenance and monitoring: proactively managing and maintaining systems to ensure maximum availability, performance, and security. Monitoring system performance and identifying and addressing potential bottlenecks.
- Making suggestions for process and quality improvements.
- Capacity planning: analyzing system performance and usage to predict capacity needs and taking timely scalability measures.
- Troubleshooting: diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues related to systems, networks, and applications. Coordinating recovery actions during outages.
- Security and compliance: implementing and enforcing security protocols and guidelines to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data. Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and (ISO) standards.
- Documentation: creating and maintaining technical documentation, such as system architectures, manuals, and procedures, to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Collaboration and communication: effectively communicating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of technical requirements and solutions.
- Working according to ISO standards 27001 and 9001.
Qualifications and requirements
- Detail-oriented, customer-focused, methodical, and systematic work.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience (at least 4 years) as a System Engineer or similar role in a complex IT environment.
- In-depth knowledge of system architecture, network infrastructure, and virtualization technologies.
- Experience managing both Windows and Linux systems.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms: Microsoft Azure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly identify and resolve technical issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: MS-102, MS-900, MS-500, or similar are a plus.
